Sharon Kaye O’Connor, LCSW
is a psychotherapist in Manhattan, NYC, and provides consultation and coaching to clients worldwide. Sharon specializes in the areas of life transitions, self-discovery, autism, and spirituality.
Sharon is a licensed clinical social worker in New York State, and holds an MSW from Hunter College School of Social Work/CUNY. She is an ordained Spiritualist minister and an associate pastor at the Spiritualist Church of New York City where she frequently facilitates energy healings and occasionally brings through a message from the Other Side. Born with the natural ability to perceive and work with energy, her formal training in holistic modalities include Reiki, energy healing, and holotropic/transformational breathwork. Her therapeutic practice frequently integrates traditional psychotherapy, spirituality and healing and she particularly enjoys working with folks who have always felt a little bit different.
Sharon is the author of the forthcoming book, Healing Autistic Burnout: A Neuroaffirming Guide for Connecting with Your Authentic Self, Restoring Your Energy, and Advocating for Your Needs (New Harbinger Publications). She is also a co-author of Academic and Student Affairs in Collaboration: Creating a Culture of Student Success (Routledge, 2016).
Sharon writes, teaches and consults extensively in the areas of autism and neurodiversity, and she has been featured as an autism and mental health expert in Salon, Newsweek, Parade, and other publications. As an autistic clinician, her mission is to translate the autistic experience to further understanding and authentic support for the autistic community.
